September was the onset of free time and lots of stress. So... books.
Lots of comfort reading this month - rereading favorite books, lots of light and fluffy. To be fair, most of it was in anticipation of receiving a stack of books by my favorite authors later in the month.
Magic's Promise by Mercedes Lackey (reread) - it makes me so sad that this series is essentially out of print...

Shifting Shadows by Patricia Briggs - I'd read most of these stories elsewhere, sadly, but there were one or two new ones, which was fun. Still generally unsatisfied by short stories though.
The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness - still an amazing series. I love the intricacy, the plots within plots... highly recommended (though there were definitely moments of disgust at the whole "mediaeval man" idea)
The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane - I actually picked this up by accident, since I wanted to get All Quiet on the Western Front. But it was an interesting novella, the point of view and personal crises poignant and simple all at once.
MOVIES & THINGS
Bad movie month. Sad, really.
Vampire Academy (2014) - oh wow, was this ever terrible. I've read the books and they're not nearly that bad. Just... wow.
Lust for Love (2014) - as a movie filled with Joss Whedon actors, I couldn't help but watch this. It was cute and quirky but very cliché, overall a bit of a disappointment.
The Lovely Bones (2009) - I read this book on the plane to Italy years and years ago, and I remember not being impressed but not hating it. I thought maybe Rachel Weisz, one of my favorite actors, could save it. Nope.
