Books:
* A Conspiracy of Kings by Megan Whalen Turner (reread)
* Passage by Connie Willis - sci-fi meets near death experiences; fascinating
* The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle (the graphic novel) - the image shown here isn't the same, for some reason, but it's an absolutely beautiful adaptation that will take pride of place on my bookshelves.
* Bright-Sided by Barbara Ehrenreich (see my review here)
* The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis - actually, my favorite of the Narnia books!
* Nation by Terry Pratchett - I'd heard that this was not his best work but to me, this is my favorite so far of Pratchett's novels. It isn't as tongue-in-cheek as his Discworld stories, but the mix of anthropology, alternate reality, and solid storyline made this impossible to put down.
* City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare - why do I bother?
New Movies/TV:
* Country Strong (2010) - because I was intrigued by the thought of Gwyneth Paltrow singing country?? I honestly don't know what I was thinking, really. It was okay.
* Black Swan (2010) - I finally watched this and once again have to remind myself that, when people tell me it's horribly creepy and makes no sense and confusing and ah!, I should take into account the fact that most have never seen Asian horror/suspense movies. The movie made a lot more sense than, say, Perfect Blue, which was very similar. Beautiful imagery though.
* Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009) - I watched this with my nieces, so I missed some pretty major plot points, but it was cute and funny.
* Step Up 3 - decent, excellent dance scenes, nice touch with the tango scene thrown in for fun (thought it looked terribly out of place).
