... but it's still a whole lot of nothing.

my usual work policy for holidays is once again in effect: holiday? what holiday? i'm working my usual sunday and monday shifts, and hopefully they won't screw me up by paying time and a half for saturday, as they've done once before, despite the saturday being the day PRECEEDING the holiday. blah. silly head office people (who have, in thousands of small ways, proven that they are merely a bunch of lab mice in human suits. which wouldn't be so bad if it were just one individual mouse - which are fairly smart, as far as i can tell - but it takes a lot of lab mice to fill a human suit, therefore there is no coherent action, much less sitting or standing involved. hence, whatever does actually reach the branches of the store could have been typed by mouse #251549, while the next could have been sent by mouse #952014, and neither has any idea what the other is thinking, if they're even aware that another mouse of that designation exists...)

okay, i'll stop now.

this week is going to be a nightmare. 2 papers and a mid-term, plus work and all my regular homework. blah. it might help if i had started on either of those two papers... luckily, they're not term or research, just analysis of an article papers, so i should be able to pull them out of my brain in a few hours each. *swigh*

heading to Slander's for supper tonite, must not forget to bring him the last of his DBs! so, what're you gonna get addicted to now? how 'bout Kenshin? they seem pwetty and are fairly popular... as long as it's not Yugioh, we're all safe. i warn you, if you begin reading Yugioh, we might have to perform an intervention...

as for me, i've been sucked into those damned Gabaldon books everybody's been obsessed with. i figured i might as well know why this series has been selling so well... admittedly, it's good, if a touch on the long side. mind you, i'm only halfway thru the first of 5, so there's still a chance it'll take a heavy downward plunge. *swigh*

SO MANY BOOKS TO READ, and absolutely no time...
